PLAYING BY THE RULES is set in Birmingham and follows the lives of 6
young people. The story focuses on 15 year old Danny – on the run from a
local authority home, who finds himself homeless and alone on the streets
of the city. He is befriended by a group of rent boys and enthusiastically
takes to their fast lifestyle. But Danny has an important lesson to learn,
easy money is a myth, there is a high price to pay …
This play was premièred at Birmingham Rep in 1992 and is written by
Birmingham playwright Rod Dungate
